主題概述／Theme Overview
Look ahead. Imagine yourself ten or twenty years into the future. Imagine the world a hundred years from now. What is it that you want to keep for the future?
往前看，想像進入十或二十年後的自己，想像自現在起的一百年後，什麼是你想為未來保留的?
Here is what we need as a species to ensure our survival into the future: Nature's abundance and a balanced environment; universal cooperation in the reduction of CO2 emissions to curb global warming; the realization of a nuclear-free, peaceful society. There are so many issues we need to address immediately.
這是我們為保全人類未來生存所需的：豐盈平衡的自然生態、全球合作減少二氧化碳排放以抑制地球暖化、對反核及和平社會的覺醒。有太多議題需要我們立即提出討論。
Our lives and the life of the earth: How can we save these? What can we do to save lives when natural disasters strike, like huge earthquakes and massive floods? What can we do to shield our minds and bodies from fear and threats of crime and social instability? What can we do to construct a society where children can grow soundly and the elderly can live in peace? What can design do to preserve our planet, our societies and our species?
我們該如何保護我們生活和地球的生命?當天災如大地震或洪水來襲時，我們該如何保護生命?我們該如何在罪惡與動盪社會的威脅中保護身心?我們該如何建構一個孩子能安穩成長、長者能寧靜生活的社會?設計能夠為保護我們的星球、社會與物種做些什麼?
From this perspective, please reexamine objects, spaces, communications, systems and so on.
In 2010, the City of Nagoya will mark the 400th anniversary of its settlement. A Creative Design City: Nagoya, will provide a vital opportunity for young people all over the world to envision the next hundred years.
*The theme of Nagoya Design DO! 2010 was formulated by the Nagoya International Design Competition Committee and Planning Committee.
從這個觀點出發，請重新審視對象、空間、溝通、系統等等。2010年，名古屋將慶祝建都400年週年，做為創造設計之都，名古屋提供全世界年輕人一個好機會，展望下一個百年。
*本競賽主題為2010名古屋國際設計競賽委員會及籌畫委員會所制定。
參賽資格／Eligibility
徵件類別／Categories qualified for entry
All areas of design are applicable for entry. Innovative design based on the competition theme is encouraged. There are 4 application divisions:
1. Product Division
2. Spatial Division
3. Visual Communication Division
4. Other Division
所有設計領域、立基於競賽主題的創新設計皆可報名參賽，如以下四大類別：
1. 產品設計類
2. 空間設計類
3. 視覺傳達類
4. 其他設計類
作品限制／Works qualified for entry
Only new works that have not yet been made public can be submitted. In other words, as of the time of the final screening results announcement, only works that have not been made into commercial products and works that have not been published in newspapers, magazines, or websites, nor placed in other exhibitions (*1) will be accepted.
Applicants should not submit the same work to any other current competitions. Submissions should be exclusive to this competition (*2).
(*1) Exhibitions: Application is possible for work such as graduations projects and other work presented within universities, as well as for work presented in private exhibitions.
(*2)Works can be published after the final screening results have been announced.
僅接受未公開作品的報名，換言之，僅接受決賽結果公佈前未商業生產、未公開於報紙、雜誌或網站，亦未公開展出之作品(*1)。
參賽者不得以相同作品參加其他競賽，參賽作品需專為本競賽設計(*2)。
(*1)展出：畢業專題、校內提案、私人討論等不在此限。
(*2)決賽結果公佈後即可公開發表作品。
報名資格／Applicant qualifications
Application is possible by any individual or group between the ages of 18 and 34. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 34 as of April 23, 2010, the submission deadline of the first screening. For groups, each individual must be between the ages of 18 and 34. Applicants should not collaborate on their works with competition personnel and judges, or with members of their families.
18~34歲之個人或團隊體皆可報名參賽。參賽者須於2010年4月23日初賽截止前年滿18歲，但未滿34歲。組隊報名者，所有成員皆須介於18~34歲。參賽者不得與本競賽員工、評審或其親屬共同創作參賽。
件數限制／Allowable number of submissions
Only one work per applicant (individual or group) can be submitted.
每位參賽者(個人或團隊)僅能報名一件作品。
官方語言／Official languages
The official languages of the competition are English and Japanese.
本競賽官方語言為英文和日文。
報名費／Application fee
There is no fee required.
免收報名費。
審查／Screening
評審辦法／Screening method
There are two steps in the screening for the competition, the “first screening” and the “final screening”. In the first screening, the works will be judged as they are presented on the website.
In the final screening, works that pass the first screening will be judged in the form of an optional panel, model, actual work and video presentation.
本競賽評審分為「初賽」、「決賽」兩步驟。初賽時，將從網站上進行作品評分。決賽時，通過初賽的作品可選擇以模型、實作或影片進行評選。
評審標準／Screening criteria
Screening criteria will include conformity to theme, social applicability, originality, innovative quality, functionality, and other criteria. The detailed interpretation of each criterion will be left to the discretion of the judges.
評審標準將包含主題切合性、社會適用性、創意、創新質量、機能和其他準則。各項標準之詮釋將留由評審斟酌。
評審結果通知／Notification of Screening results
The results of the first screening will be sent to all applicants by e-mail.
Also, the names of applicants and names of works that have passed the first screening will be displayed on the homepage. Therefore, please check the homepage if it is not possible to receive the e-mail notification of screening results.
初賽結果將以email通知，並於官網首頁公佈入圍者姓名與作品名稱，故若未收到email通知，請上網查詢結果。
評審／Judges
The Panel of Judges consists of 5 judges for the first screening and 5 judges for the final screening. The name of all judges will be announced on the official website as soon as they are confirmed.
評審名單包含初賽及決賽各五位評審，其名單將在確認後儘速公佈於官方網站。
初賽／First screening
受理期間／Acceptance period
Applications for the first screening will be accepted between April 1(Thursday) and April 23(Friday), 2010. No entries will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on 23, April (Japan Standard Time). Please consider time differences and transmission time when submitting your work.
初賽受理時間為2010年4月1日(四)~4月23日(五)，日本時間4月23日下午五點過後將拒收任何來件。提交作品時請將時差與傳輸時間列入考慮。
報名辦法／Submission method
1. Works for the first screening may be submitted via our website http://www.idcn.jp/compe
Please make sure to use the special entry form on the website when applying online.
2. Only one submission (work) will be accepted per transmission.
3. Present each work using up to five files. Restrictions apply to data volume, so be sure to follow the guidelines (refer to the guidelines).
4. The entry form must be filled out in either Japanese or English.
5. When submitting a group work, select one person to be the representative and write his or her name in the “Applicant's name” section of the entry form. (Also write down the names of the other members in the group.)
6. The application deadline for submitting entries is 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2010 (JST). No entries will be accepted after this time. Please consider time differences and required transmission time when submitting your work.
7. We expect to be inundated with entries just before the deadline. Since there may be some problems with online access, please try to send your entry as early as possible.
The online entry form will only be active during the application acceptance period, which is between April 1and April 23, 2010 (JST). The form will be inactive at other times.

2. 限上傳一件作品。
3. 每件作品可上傳5個檔案，檔案容量限制請參照參賽指南。
4. 請以日文或英文填寫報名表。
5. 團隊報名時，請推派一人做為代表，在報名表的參賽者姓名欄中填寫其姓名(其他成員姓名亦須填寫於次行的姓名欄)。
6. 報名截止為日本時間2010年4月23日下午5點，逾期恕不受理。遞交作品時請將時差與傳輸所需時間列入考慮。
7. 我們希望能在截止日期前收到作品，因線上收件可能不穩定，請僅早遞交作品。線上報名表有效期間為日本時間2010年4月1日~4月23日，逾期無效。
參賽指南／Guidelines
1. Please submit the application in a valid JAVA script format.
2. File type: All files must be in JPEG format. Please confirm the file extension when sending from Mac computer.
3. Data capacity: Only one submission (work) will be accepted per transmission.
4. Each work must be presented in 5 files or less, and each graphic file must be 400KB or less.
5. Image length and width: the longer of the two must be 1,000 pixels or less.
6. Anonymity: Please do not write any characters or symbols that can be used to identify the applicant on the screen surface of the submitted work.
7. Documents for Submission: A completed entry form. (The form should be completed in either Japanese or English.)
1. 請以有效的JAVA格式遞送報名表。
2. 檔案格式：限JPEG格式，自蘋果電腦上傳檔案時請確認副檔名。
3. 上傳容量：每次限上傳一個檔案。
4. 每件作品限以5個以內檔案呈現，每個檔案不得大於400KB。
5. 圖像長寬：最長邊不得超過1,000畫素。
6. 匿名：請勿於參賽作品上標記任何可辨識參賽者的文字或符號。
7. 報名文件：填寫完整的報名表(請以日文或英文填寫)。
初賽報名表／Entry Form for the First Screening
The online entry form will only be active during the application acceptance period, which is between April 1and April 23, 2010 (JST).
線上報名表有效期間為日本時間2010年4月1日~4月23日。
收件通知／Notification for received works
Your confirmation number will be displayed on the registration form screen after registration is complete. Also, a notification will be sent by e-mail to confirm receipt of the submitted work.
註冊手續完成後，螢幕將顯示您的確認編號，此外亦將透過email向您確認已收到作品。
決賽／Final Screening
決賽資格／Applicant qualifications
Only applicants whose works have passed the first screening are allowed to apply for the final screening. Details concerning the final screening will be sent to applicants who pass the first screening.
唯通過初賽者可繼續參加決賽，決賽詳情將寄發給通過初賽的參賽者。
初、決賽相似處／Similarity of works submitted for the first and final screening
After passing the first screening, it is possible to upgrade works for the final screening by adding “finishing touches”. However, any large diversions from the original concept or form will not be allowed.
通過初賽者可針對決賽做作品的最後修飾，但其修改不得與原設計的概念或形式差異過大。
作品退件／Return of works
Works submitted for the first screening will not be returned.
Works submitted for the final screening will be returned only to those applicants who have requested their works to be returned. Return will take place within six months after the closing of the exhibition. However, the grand prix work and the gold prize works will not be returned. If you want your work to be returned, write, “Please Return My Work” on the application form for the final screening. The cost of returning works shall be borne by the applicant. Please note that works cannot be returned if “Please Return My Work” is not written on the form.
初賽作品恕不退件，決賽作品僅退件給要求退件者。作品退件將在六個月的展期結束後辦理，但全場大獎與金獎作品恕不退件。如您希望退回作品，請在決賽報名表上標記「請將作品還給我」，作品退件費用由參賽者自行負擔。請留意，未於報名表標記退還者將不退件。
獎項／Prizes
獎項與獎金／Prize and Prize money
1. Grand Prix (one award)：1 million yen
2. Division Prize (4 awards)：100,000 yen each -Product Division, Spatial Division, Visual Communication Division, Other Division
3. Honorable Mention (approx. fifteen awards)：Memento for each recipient
4. Taxes are included in the prize money
1. 全場大獎(一名)：一百萬日幣
2. 各類獎項(共四類)：每名十萬日幣，產品類、空間類、視覺傳達類、其他設計類
3. 榮譽獎(約15名)：頒發每位獲獎者紀念品
4. 獎金已含稅。
工作坊邀請／Workshop invitation
1. The grand prix and division prize winners will be invited to a workshop held at the International Design Center NAGOYA. For group winners, only one representative can participate.
2. Competition organizers will bear costs for air travel to Japan as well as travel and accommodations within Japan. However, cash cannot be given to cover these costs.
3. The workshop will be held for about one week in November 2010. The date has not yet been confirmed.
1. 全場大獎與各類獲獎者將受邀參加名古屋國際設計中心舉辦的工作坊。團隊獲獎者，僅能有一位代表參加。
2. 主辦單位將提供參加工作坊者機票及住宿，但不可折抵現金。
3. 工作坊將約在2010年11月舉行，詳細日期尚未確定。
獲獎作品公告／Announcement of award-winning works
All works submitted for the final screening, including the award winning works, will be displayed at International Design Center NAGOYA. They will also be recorded in the catalog of works and posted on our Internet website. Regarding the exhibition and publicity of works that did not win an award in the final screening, the final screening application will be checked to confirm whether the consent was given by the applicant.
所有決賽入圍與獲獎作品將展示於名古屋國際設計中心，並收錄於年鑑、發布於官網。入圍決賽但未獲獎者，將依其決賽報名表中所填寫的意願，決定作品是否參與展出和宣傳。
參賽者權利義務Applicant Rights / Disqualification
參賽者權利／Applicant Rights
The rights for the submitted work, including copyrights and industrial property rights, belong to the applicant. Consequently, the applicant has the responsibility to protect such rights. Therefore, it is advisable to register the designs and take other necessary measures before submitting your works to the competition. Also be aware that the use of third party photographs or printed literature may infringe on other copyrights. The rights to exhibit and publish the award-winning works and the works from the final screening, and the rights related to printing and publishing in media issued or approved by the sponsor, will belong to both the applicant and the sponsor. The applicant acknowledges this fact by applying for this competition.
參賽者將保有作品的著作權與產權，意即參賽者須負起保護該作品權利之責任。因此參賽前可先註冊您的作品或採取其他必要措施。也請留意使用第三方圖文時是否侵犯其著作權。展出、發表獲獎及入圍作品之權利，以及其他出版、媒體宣傳等相關權利，將屬參賽者與主辦單位共有。參賽者報名本競賽即視為同意上述內容。
取消資格／Disqualification
If any of the following conditions apply to the entry, it will be removed from the screening procedure and any awards that may have been given can later be revoked.
1. Works that do not meet all entrance qualifications.
2. Works that are identical to or show similarity to a design that has been previously published in any manner.
3. Works that are identified as infringing on another individual's copyrights, industrial property rights, etc.
4. Works submitted to the screening but banned from exhibition or posting in publications on the internet, etc.
若參賽者具以下任一情況，將被撤銷參賽資格，甚至撤回已獲得的獎項。
1. 未符合所有報名資格之作品。
2. 與已以任何形式公開的設計相同或相似之作品。
3. 侵犯他人著作權、產權等之作品。
4. 報名參賽但違反未展出、公開或發表於網路上等規定之作品。
